Women's Volleyball Falls 3-0 to Visiting CCC Rival Salve Regina

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's volleyball team turned in a competitive effort against conference rival Salve Regina on Tuesday evening in Milton, but fell short by the score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12). The Seahawks evened their season record at 5-5 and remained unbeaten in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at 2-0. The Colonels slipped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the CCC.

Salve Regina was led by freshman Jennifer Duggan (Merrimack, N.H.) with seven kills and eight digs, both team highs. Freshman Tara Kuck (Huntington Station, N.Y.) added six kills. Sophomore Kelsey Stafstrom (Westford, Mass.) dished out a match-high 22 assists and contributed four digs.

Freshman Courtney DiBiasio (Coventry, RI) led Curry with a match-high eight kills, four digs and one service ace. Classmate Hannah Robison (Cumberland, R.I.) recorded the team’s only other service ace, along with six assists and two digs. Sophomore Tyla Miller (Marshfield, Mass.) led the team in digs with six.

Both teams step out of conference on Thursday, as the Seahawks host Wheaton College at 7:00 p.m. and the Colonels visit Mount Ida College at 6:00 p.m.
