BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Jenna Butera (Norfolk, Mass.) registered six kills and 10 digs to lead Curry to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-8 in a match played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

Senior Valerie Harrison (East Boston, Mass.) added six kills on the night for the visiting Colonels (2-14), who collected their second victory of their inaugural varsity campaign, both of which have come over the host Buccaneers (1-21) in the last four days.  Freshman Jessica Crugnale (North Reading, Mass.) also chipped in with six kills and four aces in the triumph for Curry.

Senior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.) notched six kills and four digs in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received three kills and three digs from sophomore Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.).  Sophomore Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) and freshman Michaela Garrity (Tiverton, R.I.) each chipped in with a pair of kills for the Buccaneers, who received two aces from sophomore Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) and 13 set assists from senior Allison Condino (Fitchburg, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime closes out its 2010 schedule on Saturday afternoon by heading to Bridgewater, Mass. to participate in the Bridgewater State Halloween Quad against Framingham State, Worcester State and host Bridgewater State beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Curry hosts Wentworth in a non-league outing on Thursday evening in Milton, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m. (Match recap courtesy of Mass.
