Women's Volleyball Pressures Bay Path and Albertus Magnus Before Falling 3-0 and 3-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Curry College Women's Volleyball team, playing on the road in a tri-match against Bay Path College and host Albertus Magnus College, played some of their closest sets of the season, eventually falling 3-0 to Bay Path and 3-1 to Albertus Magnus. The Colonels slipped to 0-11 in their inaugural season.

The opening match saw the host Falcons claim a 3-0 victory over Bay Path College with scores of 25-17, 25-13, and 25-19. Junior middle hitter Elizabeth Williams (West Haven, CT/Hyde) had a game high seven kills while sophomore Krista LaBissioniere (Meriden, CT/OH Platt) chipped in four kills and a game high six digs.

The middle match featured Bay Path College versus Curry College.  Bay Path won the match 3-0 with extremely close set scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-23.

The third match saw Albertus take a 2-0 lead over Curry with scores of 25-15 and 25-19. The third game of the match was back and forth with Curry coming from behind to win 25-23. The Falcons wasted little time in the fourth game jumping out to a 7-3 lead and claimed a 25-11 victory.

Junior outside hitter Tiffany Ortiz (New Haven, CT/Career) had nine kills and four digs while Williams added a game high 15 kills in the match. Sophomore setter Martiza Rosemond (New Haven, CT/Career) had 24 assists, six digs, and seven service aces to pace the Falcons. (Match recaps courtesy of Albertus Magnus Sports Information)
