Women's Tennis Stifled by UMass Boston

BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of UMass Boston Monday afternoon at the Boston College High School Tennis Courts.

With the defeat, the Colonels drop to 0-8 overall on the season.

The Beacons cruised in all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. The closest match came at the second position, where juniors Grace Coopee (Hampden, Mass.) and Cayla Osowski (Westfield, Mass.) fell 8-3.

Curry could not recover once singles play began, as UMass Boston won all six singles matches to close out the 9-0 final. Senior Sasha Borkov (Newton, Mass.) had Curry's closest match, but fell 6-1, 6-3 at first singles.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return to action on the road on Wednesday with a non-league contest against Eastern Nazarene. First serves in doubles play are set for 3 p.m.
