Women's Tennis Downed by Salve Regina

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss at the hands of Salve Regina University Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Trent J. Scott Tennis Courts.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 2-6 overall on the season and 0-4 in CCC play. Salve Regina improves to 2-3 and 2-2 in the league.

Curry got its only two wins in singles play. At first singles, sophomore Alexandra Borkov (Newton, Mass.) defeated Sailor Nordstrom 6-4, 6-0, while freshman Cayla Osowski (Westfield, Mass.) got the job done at fourth singles with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 victory over Graysen Scherer.

Alexa Stevens, Annemarie Haas, Ellysa Tancrede, and Natalie Barros were all victorious in singles play for the visitors. In doubles play, Nordstrom and Stevens as well as Haas and Casey Farrell teamed up for Salve's victories.

Curry will return to the court immediately, hosting Rhode Island College on Thursday for a 4 p.m. first serve at Scott Courts.
