MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.
We continue the series with Sophia Wiernusz (Collegeville, Pa.), a rising sophomore from our women's tennis program:
How did you get into your sport? I tried it at a summer camp when I was five and loved it.
Why did you choose Curry? I chose Curry because of the great learning support and the best nursing program.
What hobbies do you have outside your sport? I love fishing, paddle boarding, and archery.
What is your dream job? Nurse anesthetist
What is your greatest sports moment? Coming back from serious injury to win my first college match
What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Movie nights
Interesting fact about yourself? I am a great cook.
Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Go to Poland, 2. See the flamingos on the Salt Lake in Africa, and 3. See the red sand on the Galapagos Islands
Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? I love to listen to classical music.
