2013 All-CCC Women's Tennis Teams Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Eight different institutions that sponsor women's tennis from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) were represented on the 2013 All-CCC Women's Tennis Team. In addition to the all-conference team, four major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner were selected.

Endicott College junior Chrissy Martel was named CCC Player of the Year and Gordon College freshman Caroline Hall was recognized as the CCC Rookie of the Year. Nichols College senior Anna Dyakiv was selected as the CCC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Endicott's Jeremy Howard was honored as CCC Coach of the Year and Eastern Nazarene College was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Voting for the All-CCC team and the major awards was conducted among CCC head women's tennis coaches.

Joining Dyakiv, Hall, and Martel on the first team for singles were Lindsay Benoit (Nichols), Samantha Curran (Roger Williams), and Amy Heacox (Endicott).

First team doubles selections included the Nichols team of Dyakiv and Cristina Szepanski, the Gordon tandem of Hall and Cindi Flynn, and the Endicott duo of Martel and Natalie Egbert.

Second team singles selections included Caitlin Corcoran (Wentworth), Hillary Dutton (Roger Williams), Egbert, Megan Mulrooney (Curry), Lauren Schmidt (Roger Williams), and Tawnie Yeaw (Gordon).

Second team doubles choices included the Curry team of Lauren Chuha and Emily Mongello, the Roger Williams pair of Curran and Dutton, and the Endicott duo of Heacox and Mackenzie Rhodes.

Receiving honorable mention for singles were Alexandra Brown (Roger Williams), Gina Ciliberti (Salve Regina), Caleigh Curran (Western New England), Mongello, Suzie Newman (Endicott), Szepanski, and Kasey Walther (Salve Regina).

Honorable mention honorees in doubles include the Nichols tandem of Benoit and Emma Carey, the Wentworth duo of Corcoran and Virginia Ofer, the Roger Williams pair of Schmidt and Brown, and the Gordon twosome of Yeaw and Lily Drescher.
