Women's Tennis Downs Gordon, 7-2, in Final Regular Season CCC Match

WENHAM, Mass. - Playing in front of their Homecoming crowd, the Fighting Scots were felled, 7-2, by the visiting Colonels of Curry College in their final Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match of the season.

Despite falling in Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, Gordon's Kristin Dillon (So./Exeter, Maine) and Katie Madison (Jr./Longfield, Wash.) battled for an 8-6 win at No. 3 to leave the Scots trailing just 1-2 heading into singles play.

Curry proved too strong on the day, however, besting the Scots in each singles match save for No. 6 in which Madison took a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Curry's Devin Curley (So./Marshfield, Mass.). The Colonels received standout play from Megan Mulrooney (So./South Boston, Mass.) and Emily Mongelio (So./Milton, Mass.) at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, who cruised to two-set wins without ceding more than two games per set.

With the win Curry improves to 6-5 overall, while the Scots fall to 1-9.
