Women’s Soccer Closes Out Regular Season with Win over Wentworth

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College concluded regular season competition with a 3-0 victory over Wentworth Tuesday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer game at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, Curry concludes the regular season with an overall record of 4-6-7 while going 2-3-3 in conference play.

Curry was first to score when Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) passed the ball to Madison Frye (Abington, Mass.), who performed fancy footwork and shot the ball from five yards outside the box. The shot bounced off the top bar and redirected to the back of the net to put the Colonels on top 1-0.

Curry took a two-goal lead in the 20th minute of play when Samantha DeRousi (Cranston, R.I.) sent a high-arcing pass to Shannon Folan (Hudson, Mass.) who finished with one touch for the score.

Folan would score again in the 68th minute of play when Abby Corcoran (Newington, Conn.) sent a leading pass out in front of Folan, allowing her to beat the Leopards defense and put the Colonels on top 3-0

Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) and Lexi Smardon (Scotland, Conn.) split time in net for the Colonels, combining for four saves in the win.

Curry College will compete in the first round of the CCC tournament on the road on Saturday.
