Women's Soccer Lands Four All-Conference Honorees

BIDDEFORD, Maine - A quartet of Curry College women's soccer players were named Wednesday afternoon to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference teams.

Forward Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.), midfielder Sydney Resendes (Coventry, R.I.), and defender Jessica Gooch (Dracut, Mass.) all earned Second Team All-Conference honors, while goalkeeper Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) earned a spot on the Third Team.

Borges led the Colonels with eight goals in her final season in a Curry uniform, a mark that was tied for fourth in the CCC. With four assists as well, Borges finished the season with 20 points, leading the Colonels and ranking fourth in the conference.

Resendes had a breakout season for the Colonels offensively. The criminal justice major netted six goals and five assists on the season for 17 points, good for ninth in the CCC.

Gooch anchored Curry's back line all season. With her help, the Colonels finished tied for third in the CCC with seven clean sheets on the season, and fifth with a team goals against average of 1.16.

Correa played every minute of CCC action between the pipes for the Colonels in 2022. A two-time CCC Defensive Player of the Week, Correa led the league with a save percentage of .873 in conference games, and finished in third with seven shutouts.

It is the first All-Conference selection for all four players.
