Women's Soccer Bows Out of CCC Tournament

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College women's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Tuesday evening, falling to the University of New England 3-0 in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

With the defeat, Curry sees its 2022 season end with an overall record of 10-6-3.

The Nor'easters drew first blood on the evening, burying the opening goal off a corner kick in the 16th minute. The goal came off the foot of sophomore Morgan Diefenbach, her second goal of the postseason after failing to find the net in the regular season.

In the 63rd minute, UNE doubled its advantage when freshman Kylie Curtin netted her second goal of the season.

Curtin added an insurance marker, her second goal of the game, in the 78th minute that put the game out of reach of the Colonels.

Sophomore Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) took the loss in net for Curry, despite making six saves.

UNE advances to the CCC Championship, which will take place on Saturday afternoon at Western New England University.
