Women's Soccer Claims #8 Seed in the CCC Quarterfinals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott finished the 2017 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular season unbeaten to earn the No. 1 seed in the CCC Women's Soccer Tournament for the first time since 2013. The Gulls ended with an 8-0-1 CCC (12-4-1 overall) record.

The Gulls held a 30-4 advantage in goals during conference play this year. They blanked their opponents in six of their nine league games and allowed more than one goal only once. Their only CCC tie came against Roger Williams.

As the No. 1 seed, Endicott will host No. 8 seed Curry in the CCC Quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 28. That match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Curry gained entry to the tournament with a 1-6-2 CCC record (8-8-3 overall).

Roger Williams, which had its streak of three-straight top seeds snapped this year, will be the No. 2 seed in this year's bracket. The Hawks went 7-1-1 in CCC play (11-7-2 overall) and will host No. 7 seed Salve Regina in the quarterfinals on Saturday. That match is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The other two quarterfinals will feature No. 3 seed Western New England (7-2 CCC, 9-7-2 overall) hosting No. 6 seed University New England (3-5-1 CCC, 8-8-2 overall) and No. 4 seed Gordon (6-2-1 CCC, 9-4-2 overall) hosting No. 5 seed Wentworth (4-4-1 CCC, 6-10-1 overall). The match at WNE will kick off at 1:30 p.m. and the Gordon match will begin at noon.

The quarterfinal winners will meet in the CCC Semifinal round on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The winner of the Endicott-Curry match will play the winner of the Gordon-Wentworth game and the Roger Williams-Salve winner will face the WNE-UNE winner.

The two semifinal winners will advance to compete in the CCC Women's Soccer Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 4. The winner of the title contest will be named the 2017 CCC Women's Soccer Tournament Champion and earn the conference's automatic qualifier into the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
