75th Minute Goal Sends Roger Williams Past Curry College 2-1 in Women's Soccer

MILTON, MASS.- The Curry College Women's Soccer team lost to visiting Roger Williams, 2-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Saturday night at the Walter M. Katz Field. 

The Hawks Jordyn Labriola scored both the tying and game-winning goals to help her team earn a third CCC victory.

In the 16th minute, Kaitlyn Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) gave the home team the early advantage when she recorded her seventh goal on the season when she received a pass from Amanda Chrisfulla (Raynham, Mass.) and deposited the shot in the back of the net.

Roger Williams would answer right before the end of the first half when Labriola scored on a pass from Ericca Broderick to knot the game at one going into the intermission.

The contest would remain tied until Labriola finished off a pass from Carly Quinn to give the Hawks the advantage in the latter stages of regulation.

The Hawks (5-5-2, 3-0-2) registered nine total shots in the contest, led by three from Samantha Woznicki. The Colonels (6-5-1, 1-3-0) tallied five shots in the contest, paced by Lima, who registered two which included Curry's lone goal on the night.

Roger Williams held the edge in shots (9-5) and corners (2-0) while the Colonels' goalkeeper Morgan Stott made four saves on six shots.

Curry continues a three-game homestand when they host the University of New England on Fri. Oct. 7th at 4 p.m. Roger Williams travels to Bridgewater State for a non-conference battle on Oct. 5th at 7 p.m.
