Milton, MA - The Curry women's lacrosse team defeated the Gordon Fighting Scots on Saturday by a final score of 19-16, moving to 6-10 on the season and 2-5 in CCC play. The Scots are now 3-12 and 1-5. With the win, the Colonels put themselves in a great spot to make the CCC playoffs.

After five minutes of scoreless play, the goals started coming fast and furiously, as Gordon opened the scoring. Curry then scored twice in a 30 second span, with Casey Conneely and Chloe Chevrier each scoring. After another Scots goal, Ellie Hardman and Grayson Goolgasian each found the back of the net. A third Gordon goal made it 4-3 after the first quarter.

Gordon tied things up early in the second, but three straight Colonel goals put Curry back in front. Another Goolgasian goal was sandwiched between two Chloe Chevrier goals. Gordon drew back within one with two straight goals, but another scoring spree by Curry made it 10-6, as Conneely, Nicole Michael, and Goolgasian each scored. A Gordon goal with 30 seconds left in the period made in 10-7 at the half.

Gordon came out of the break on fire, scoring three straight goals to tie things up at 10. But the Colonels remained composed, and scored four of the next five goals, as Keenan scored twice, along with goals from Goolgasian and Natalie Keenan. This sent the game to the fourth with the Colonels up 14-11.

The Colonels used a balanced attack in the fourth, as Chevrier, Conneely, Goolgasian, and Keenan all scored in the first eight minutes, giving the Colonels a five-goal lead at 18-15. After three straight Gordon goals while a player up made it a two-goal game with a little over two minutes left, the Colonels got the extra breathing room from a Keenan goal in the closing seconds, giving Curry the 19-16 win.

Natalie Keenan led the scoring outburst with five goals and an assist. Both Chloe Chevrier and Grayson Goolgasian each scored four goals, with Goolgasian also collecting three assist. Casey Conneely also had a hat trick with three goals, while also adding an assist. Ellie Hardman was a key facilitator in the game, dishing out six assists to go with her two goals. Goolgasian was all over the field, leading the team with seven ground balls, seven draw controls, and five caused turnovers.

Zoe Ratcliffe made five saves to pick up the win.

Prior to the game, the Colonels honored their two seniors, Chloe Chevrier and Ellie Hardman.
