Women's Lacrosse Lights Up Leopards

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated the Wentworth Institute of Technology 21-3 Saturday morning in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse game at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 5-9 and a conference record of 1-4.

Curry got off to a hot start, scoring six straight goals to jump out to an early 6-0 lead. The Colonels scored two more times in the opening period to lead 8-1 heading into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Colonels outscored the visitors 5-2 to establish a ten-point lead (13-3) and keep the game clock running for the remainder of the contest. The Colonel defense held strong for the remainder of the game, allowing zero goals in the second half while the Curry offense continued to excel with eight goals.

The offense ran through Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) who finished with four goals and seven assists. Nicole Michael (New Hope, Pa.) led the Colonels with five goals while also adding two assists. Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) and Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) both scored four times while Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) finished with three goals and three assists. Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) was another major contributor with one goal and three assists.

Alexa Puopolo (Lynn, Mass.) and Zoe Ratcliffe (Medway, Mass.) split time in net for the Colonels, combining for eight saves in the victory.

Curry College returns to action on Thursday, April 18th, with a road game against Endicott beginning at 4 p.m.
