Golden Bears Claw Past Women’s Lacrosse

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 16-8 by Western New England University Sunday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse game at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 4-8 and a conference record of 0-3.

Junior Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) scored two unassisted goals in the first three minutes of play to give Curry an early 2-0 lead. Later in the period, Goolgasian assisted Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) on the Colonels' third and fourth goals. Goolgasian picked up her third and fourth goals in the second quarter, leaving Curry trailing 9-6 heading into halftime.

Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) opened scoring in the third with a free-position goal to score the seventh Colonel goal. Goolgasian scored her fifth goal of the game early in the fourth quarter to cap off scoring for Curry.

Alexa Puopolo (Lynn, Mass.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making nine saves in the loss.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, April 10th, in a road game against Nichols College beginning at 4 p.m.
