Women's Lacrosse Sunk by Mass Maritime

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 15-6 by Mass—Maritime in a non-conference women's lacrosse matchup Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field. With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 4-5.

The Colonels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter, starting when Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) scored her seventh goal of the season after receiving a pass from Ava Doyle (Lynnfield, Mass.) with just under 11 minutes remaining in the first. Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) scored the second goal of the game just two minutes later, with the assist coming from Conneely.

Curry scored the last two goals of the second quarter when Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) found Doyle who finished the play to cut the Mass Maritime lead to three (6-3). Hardman scored with just 18 seconds left in the second with the assist being credited to Goolgasian.

Goolgasian and Hardman scored in the third quarter with Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) picking up a pair of assists.

Alexa Puopolo (Lynn, Mass.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 18 saves in the loss.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, March 27th, in a road game against Roger Williams beginning at 4 p.m.
