Women's Lacrosse Win Streak Snapped by UMass Dartmouth

Milton, MA - The Curry Women's Lacrosse team saw their four game winning streak snapped by UMass Dartmouth on Monday, falling 19-11. The Colonels are now 4-3 on the season while the Corsairs are now 2-2.

Curry jumped out to an early lead with a goal from Ellie Hardman just 30 seconds in. After neither team scored in the next nine minutes, Grayson Goolgasian doubled the Colonels lead. after a Corsair goal just 40 seconds later, Natalie Keenan responded with a goal of her own a minute later, giving the Colonels a 3-1 lead after one. The Corsairs would then hold an advantage in the second, scoring four of the first five goals, with Casey Conneely scoring the Curry goal. This put the Corsairs up 5-4, but two straight Curry goals from Goolgasian and Hardman put the Colonels back up. But The Corsairs would tie things up. Curry would get one more goal from Keenan with 30 seconds left in the half, but UMass Dartmouth would score in the final seconds to send the game to halftime tied up at seven.

The Corsairs would dominate the second half, outscoring the Colonels 12-4. Of those four goals, Keenan would score two, while Goolgasian and Hardman each had one.

Outside of the trio of Goolgasian, Keenan, and Hardman, all of which had hat tricks, the Colonels offense struggled to get through the Corsair defense. In addition to her four goals, Keenan led the team with seven draw controls. Goolgasian and Sarah Joseph each had two caused turnovers, while Goolgasian also led the team with five ground balls.

Alexa Puopolo made seven saves in net for the Colonels.
