Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight Against Vermont State Castleton

CASTLETON, Vt. - Curry College narrowly defeated Vermont State Castleton by a score of 12-11 in a non-conference collegiate women's lacrosse game Tuesday night at Dave Wolk Stadium.

The win marks three in a row for the Colonels as Curry improves to an overall record of 3-2 on the season.

Curry scored four times in the opening period starting when Brooke Barry (Abington, Mass.) scored off a pass from Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.). Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) was next to score, finding the back of the net to give Curry a 2-1 advantage. Goolgasian scored twice more on free position shots to leave the Colonels on top 4-2 heading into the second quarter. Hardman scored again early in the quarter to maintain the Curry lead heading into halftime.

The Colonels had eight goals in the second half, led by Goolgasian, who scored two more times for a total of four goals on the game. Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) also finished with four goals while Hardman added three. Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) capped off scoring for the Colonels with an unassisted goal late in the fourth quarter.

Zoe Ratcliffe (Medway, Mass.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 12 saves to improve to a record of 3-1.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, March 13th, in a road game against Dean, beginning at 4 p.m.
