SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The sixth-seeded Curry College women's lacrosse team fell 20-12 to third-seeded Western New England University in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.

With the defeat, Curry sees its 2023 season come to an end with an overall mark of 5-11.

Curry held a 2-1 lead late in the first quarter after goals from sophomore Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) and freshman Ava Doyle (Lynnfield, Mass.), but four goals in a span of 2:29 gave the Golden Bears a 5-2 lead heading to the second.

The second quarter was a high-scoring affair with the Colonels getting on the board four times, but Western New England's offense also sparkled in the frame with six tallies to take an 11-6 lead into halftime. Curry got single tallies from sophomore Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) and Goolgasian, with classmate Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) notching a pair.
