Women's Lacrosse Doubled Up by Salve Regina

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team fell by a final score of 18-9 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 4-9 overall on the season and 1-5 in the CCC.

The teams went back and forth in the first quarter, with the Seahawks escaping the period ahead 4-3. Junior Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) netted a pair of goals in the frame, with sophomore Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) tallying the other.

Salve Regina began to pull away in the second, outpacing Curry 6-2 to take a 10-5 lead to the break. Goolgasian and junior Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) scored Curry's goals in the second quarter.

The Seahawks put the game away with a dominating third, outscoring the Colonels 6-1. The lone Colonel strike came from the stick of freshman Ava Doyle (Lynnfield, Mass.).

Curry outscored the Seahawks 3-2 in the fourth quarter, but the damage was already done as the visitors closed out the 18-9 victory. Goolgasian netted a pair in the fourth, with Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) scoring Curry's final marker of the day.

Between the pipes, sophomore Vivi Helquist (Proctor, Minn.) turned away nine Seahawk shots in the defeat. 

Next up for the Colonels, they will host Endicott College for Senior Day on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
