Women’s Lacrosse Dropped by Nor'Easters

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Curry College Women's Lacrosse fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent University of New England 18-6 on the road Wednesday evening.

With the loss, Curry moves forward with an overall record of 2-6 and 0-2 in the CCC.

The Colonels notched the first goal of the conference matchup, sophomore Asher Printzen (Las Vegas, Nev.) finding the back of the net on a goal assisted by Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) just over five minutes into the contest.

Curry's Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, RI) pushed the Colonels to a 2-1 lead with 5:24 remaining in the first quarter on a free-position shot, finding an opening past UNE's Maria Turriza.

Five more goals from the hosting Nor'Easters sent the matchup into the second quarter with UNE leading 7-2. 

The Colonels quickly answered back in the second quarter, Asher Printzen and Chloe Chevrier notching goals both assisted by Grayson Goolgasian to close in on the Nor'easters' lead.

UNE would score seven goals in the second quarter to head into the halftime break leading 14-5. With just one additional goal from the Colonels in the second half, Curry would not be able to catch UNE's lead, falling to the Nor'Easters by a final score of 18-6.

Curry freshman netminder Zoe Ratcliffe (Medway, Mass.) notched 10 saves in the conference loss on the road.

The Colonels get back out on the field Friday as they host CCC opponent Roger Williams University at 4 PM.
