Women's Lacrosse Defeated by Clark

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team fell by a final score of 17-12 on Wednesday afternoon in a high-scoring affair at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 2-4 overall on the season.

Both teams scored four times in the opening quarter to head to the second all knotted up. Junior Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) tallied a first quarter hat trick for the Colonels, while sophomore Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) netted one goal.

The Cougars took control in the second quarter, outpacing Curry 6-2 in the period to take a 10-6 lead into halftime. Sophomore Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.) and Chevrier scored Curry's second quarter goals.

Curry could not cut into the lead any further in the third quarter, as both teams scored three times in the frame to go to the fourth with a score of 13-9. Keenan scored her second goal of the afternoon in the quarter, while Goolgasian finished off her hat trick with a pair of markers.

Clark sealed the win in the fourth quarter by outscoring the hosts by a margin of 4-3. Chevrier scored a pair of goals in the period to finish the day with six, while Goolgasian netted her fourth of the day.

Making her first collegiate appearance in net, Colonel freshman Zoe Ratcliffe (Medway, Mass.) made five saves in the defeat.

Next up for the Colonels, they will hit the road on Saturday to open Commonwealth Coast Conference play at Gordon. The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
