Women's Lacrosse Tops Gordon
MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team earned its first Commonwealth Coast Conference victory of the 2022 season on Saturday morning, defeating Gordon college 13-9 at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win. Curry improves to 2–8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

Curry came out the gates hot in quarter number one, scoring six times in the game's first 15 minutes to take control of the game early. Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.), Sabrina Santaniello (Marshfield, Mass.), Morgan Orr (Bozrah, Conn.), and Maggie Murray (Marstons Mills, Mass.) all scored single goals in the period for Curry, while Sharon Doherty (Easton, Mass.) scored a pair.

Each team scored four times in the second quarter, as Curry took a 10–6 lead into the half. Doherty and Santaniello each scored once in the second quarter with Murray netting two.

Gordon outscored curry 2–0 in the third quarter, but goals from Murray, Doherty, and freshman Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) secured the win for curry in the fourth.

Doherty and Murray each finished with four goals and one assist in the victory for the Colonels.

Curry senior goalkeeper Jess Ginaitt (Warwick, R.I.) finished with an impressive 16 saves in the victory. She improves to 2–7 overall on the season between the pipes.

Curry will seek a second consecutive win on Tuesday, when they travel to Roger Williams University for another CCC matchup. The contest is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
