Curry Lacrosse Teams Volunteer for the Milton Foundation for Education

MILTON, Mass. – When asked for volunteers for the second year in a row at the Milton Foundation for Education – 15th Annual Monster Dash 5K Race and Fun Run, the Curry College women's and men's lacrosse teams jumped at the opportunity.  Both programs were looking to get involved again with the Milton community.  The Curry men's and women's lacrosse programs have put an extra emphasis on academics this year, so tying into the Milton Foundation for Education made perfect sense.

On October 27, Colonels' student-athletes completed a variety of tasks throughout the Monster Dash.  Whether it was working at the registration table, lifting equipment, face painting, handing out medals or just cheering at the finish line, the Curry lacrosse players were willing to give up a Sunday morning to help in whatever way they could.

Denise Queally, Milton Foundation for Education Trustee and Co-chair of MFE, had this to say about the Curry lacrosse programs' participation:  "The Milton Foundation for Education (MFE) is so very grateful to Curry College and the wonderful men and women LAX players who volunteered at our 15th Annual Monster Dash on Sunday, October 27th.  Not only were the Curry students extremely helpful in assisting the MFE with managing close to 1000 participants, they were very thoughtful and respectful of our community. And I sincerely believe they were having as much fun as the young boys and girls in attendance.  It's so nice to know that we have such fine men and women as our neighbors here in Milton.  Thank you Curry College...we could not have 'run' the Monster Dash without you!"

It ended up being a great day of service for both programs, and both are looking forward to helping out again at next year's race.
