Brickey Earns CCC Defensive Player of the Week for the Third Week in a Row and Bottary Earns CCC Offensive Player of the Week for the Second Week in a Row

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College junior defender Mel Brickey (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named as Defensive Player of the Week for the third week in a row.  Brickey was a defensive force this week for the Colonels, leading her team to a 2-0 record.  She helped her team outscore their opponents 37-11 in just two games.  On defense, she scooped up 10 groundballs and won 22 draw controls, while causing 10 turnovers. On the offensive side, she tallied nine points on six goals and three assists.   

Curry College senior attacker Ana Bottary (Hull, Mass.) has been named as Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row.  Bottary netted 10 goals and assisted on seven for 17 points in a 2-0 week for the Colonels.  She scored five goals and had three assists in an 18-4 win over Wheelock.  She then earned nine points, scoring five more goals and chipping in four assists in a 19-7 win over Manhattanville.

The Colonels currently have an overall record of 5-1.
