Women's Lacrosse Absorbs 13-7 Loss at New England College

HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Amanda Naimie (York, Maine) netted seven goals and dished out an assist leading the Pilgrims past the visiting Curry College Colonels 13-7 Thursday evening.

With the wins the Pilgrims improve to 7-8 on the season, while the loss drops the Colonels to 7-8 overall.

The two teams would exchange goals early before the Pilgrims would close out the half on a 5-0 run, including three goals from Naimie, to head into halftime up 6-2.

NEC would extend their lead to 11-4 with 13:56 remaining to play but Curry would respond with three goals cutting the lead to 12-7.  The Pilgrims would net a final goal with just four second remaining as NEC would come away with the 13-7 victory.

NEC’s Chantale Lacroix (Manchester, N.H.) and Emily Bamberger (Brimfield, Mass.) would each score two goals and have an assist.

Leading the way for Curry was Heather Breton (Wolfeboro, N.H.) who netted three goals and Mel Brickey (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored two goals and had an assist.

Picking up the win in net for NEC was Rebecca Harvey (Natick, Mass.) who finished with 12 saves.  In goal for Curry was Maria Lynch (Billerica, Mass.) who recorded seven saves.
