Ashley Hansbury Scores her 100th Point of the Season as Women's Lacrosse Downs Salve Regina 15-6

MILTON, Mass.- Senior Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored her 100th point on the season as Curry defeated Salve Regina 15-6 on Saturday in Milton.  With the win the Colonels improve to 10-4 overall and 7-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The Seahawks fall to 3-9 overall and 1-6 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. 

Curry went on a 7-0 run before Salve Regina would score their first goal of the game. The Colonels would close out the half scoring four more and the Seahawks would get just one to finish at 11-2.  Hansbury would score five of her six goals in the first half. 

The Colonels scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 13-2 lead and was able to stay up by 10 goals most of the half to use running time.  Curry would get just two more goals in the game while the Seahawks would score four of their own, three of the goals coming in the last ten minutes.

Along with Hansburys' six goals, she also dished out one assist and had six draw controls and two caused turnovers.  Freshman Ana Bottary (Hull, Mass.) had her best effort of the season scoring two goals and adding three assists for five points.  Junior Elissa Bulgatz(Chicago, IL) had four points on two goals and two assists.  Junior Jessie Koffman (Andover, Mass.) put up three goals and senior Carissa Lauyer (Bloomsbury, N.J) had two.

The Seahawks were led by freshman Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) who finished the day with two goals and one assist.  Senior Erika Curtin (Hunington, N.Y.) scored two goals, and senior Sarah Baker (Summit, N.J) and sophomore Rebecca Simmons (Averill Park, N.Y.) each had one.

Junior Maria Lynch (Billerica, Mass) played in net and made a career-high 16 saves for the win in 53:30 minutes. Junior Kate Noe (Greenwich, CT) made two stops in 6:30 minutes.  In net for Salve Regina was sophomore Natalie Balletta (Hyde Park, VT) who made 10 saves.

The Colonels will host Rhode Island College on Monday, April 19 for a 4:00 p.m game time. Salve hosts St. Jospeh's (ME) on Monday April 19 for a 4:00 p.m. game start.
