Women's Ice Hockey Doubled Up by Gulls

Canton, MA - The Curry College Women's Ice Hockey team fell to #12 Endicott on Friday night by a final score of 4-2. The Colonels are now 8-8-2 on the season and 4-7-2 in CCC play, while the Gulls are now 14-4-2 and 10-2-0.

It was scoreless for most of the first period until the Colonels scored with just over three minutes left in the period. Grayson Goolgasion scored off of assists from Kalie Gruhlke and Danielle Reid. But the Gulls would respond with just under a minute remaining, and the game headed to the first intermission tied at one.

The second period saw the Colonels once agin grab the lead, this time off the stick of Reid who scored from a weird angle shot left of the goalie, putting Curry up 2-1. But the lead was short lived, as the Gulls once again tied things up just minutes later. They would then score again before the end of the second to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission. They would add one more goal early in the fourth, and win 4-2.

The difference in the game proved to be the power play, as the Gulls capitalized on two of their five chances, while the Colonels went 0-3. The Gulls won the shot battle 32-27. Hannah Berkowitz had a good game for the Colonels, recording five shots, while also winning nine of her 10 faceoffs. In net, Sarah Kerr made 28 saves on 32 shots.
