Women’s Ice Hockey Holds Back Rams

BOSTON - Curry College defeated Suffolk University by a score of 1-0 Saturday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey action at the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

With the win, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 8-7-2 and a conference record of 4-5-2.

Junior Hannah Berkowitz was the lone goal scorer of the contest, scoring on a power play at the 7:48 mark of the second period. Berkowitz scored off a rebound from junior Danielle Reid's (Plainview, N.Y.) shot attempt to give the Colonels a game-winning 1-0 lead.

The Colonels kept the Suffolk goalkeeper busy, putting up a total of 35 shots on goal, with Reid shooting a game-high seven shots.

Sophomore Sarah Kerr (Cochrane, Alberta) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making a colossal 50 saves to keep the shutout intact.

Curry College returns to action on Friday, January 26th, to host at the Canton Ice House Endicott beginning at 7 p.m.
