Women’s Ice Hockey Wins Fifth Straight

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College shut out Nichols College, enjoying a 5-0 victory over the Bison for the second day in a row in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey action at the Canton Ice House.

The win makes five straight for Curry, with the Colonels managing to outscore opponents 21-3 in the five-game span. The win streak puts Curry above .500 for the first time since November 4th when the Colonels were 2-1 after an 8-2 victory over the University of Southern Maine.

Five different Curry players scored, including three goals in the second period starting with junior Hannah Berkowitz (Mattawan, Mich.) just one and a half minutes into the contest. She was assisted by sophomores Tommi Nash (Point Pleasant, N.J.) and Ava Doyle (Lynnfield, Mass.).

Junior Danielle Reid (Plainview, N.Y.) scored on a powerplay three minutes later after receiving a pass from Berkowitz. Sophomore Megan Sawatzky (Lemont, Ill.) scored another powerplay goal at the midway point of the second period. She was assisted on the play by freshman Anna Kahl (Simsbury, Conn.), and freshman Julia Small (Methuen, Mass.).
