Women’s Ice Hockey Barrels Through Bison

DUDLEY, Mass. - Curry College enjoyed a 5-0 over Nichols College Friday night in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's ice hockey matchup at Levy Stadium.

With the victory, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 6-6-2 and a conference record of 2-4-2.

Curry scored twice in the opening period, the first coming from sophomore Margot Oxman (Lower Merion, Pa.), who gave the Colonels a 1-0 lead. She was assisted on the play by junior Danielle Reid (Plainview, N.Y.). Her classmate, Ali Olorenshaw (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), gave Curry a 2-0 lead just over 10 minutes later, with assists coming from Reid and Oxman.

Reid got involved in the scoring game just two minutes into the second, scoring an unassisted goal to give the Colonels a 3-0 advantage. Junior Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) was next up to score, with an unassisted goal towards the end of the period.

Junior Meagan Young (New Market, Md.) capped off scoring for the night, scoring her first goal of the season halfway through the third period to put the Colonels on top 5-0. She was assisted by Goolgasian and sophomore Ella Altiman (Chatham, Ontario).

Graduate student Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 29 saves in the win.

Curry College hosts Nichols in a rematch game on Saturday, January 13th, beginning at 3 p.m.
