Women's Ice Hockey Dropped by Suffolk

CANTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's ice hockey team fell to Suffolk University by a final score of 6-1 Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Canton Ice House.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 6-8-2 overall on the season and 4-5-2 in the CCC.

Goals from Liliana Moose and Sofia Scilipoti gave Suffolk a 2-0 lead after the first period. Leslie Stein scored the only goal of the second period to carry a three-goal lead into the third.

After three Suffolk tallies early in the third, Curry prevented the shutout when sophomore Ali Olorenshaw (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) tallied her first goal of the season. Olorenshaw grabbed a passed from classmate Hannah Berkowitz (Mattawan, Mich.) and made a move to the backhand before shoveling it past Suffolk netminder Hannah Gordon.

Curry sophomore netminder Anna Langton (Zimmerman, Minn.) took the loss in net despite making 32 saves. She falls to 1-2-1 in net on the season.

Next up for Curry, they will play a non-conference contest against Anna Maria College on Tuesday night at the Canton Ice House. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
