Women's Basketball Taken Down by RWU

Bristol, RI - The Curry Colonels were defeated by the Roger Williams Hawks on Saturday by a final score of 77-55. The Colonels are now 7-12 on the season and 2-9 in CCC play, while the Hawks are now 12-7 and 8-3.

Neither team would score over the first two minutes, at which point the Hawks began a 10-1 run to grab the early lead. The Hawks would keep that lead throughout the quarter, ending with an 18-8 lead. The second quarter was more of the same, as the Hawks held a 41-15 lead at the break. The Colonels did outscore the Hawks 40-36 in the second half, but ultimately did fall 77-55.

The Colonels had two double-digit scorers, led by Kylie McCarthy's 14 points. Lauren Dunn was right behind her with 11. Jacklyn MacDonald had eight off the bench. McCathy also led the team in both rebounds (4), assists (3), and steals (2).

Up Next - The Colonels will host Gordon on Wednesday, in a matchup between the two teams who are tied for the final playoff spot in the CCC playoffs. That game will start at 5:30pm.
