Women's Basketball Use Big First Quarter to Beat Leopards

Boston, MA - The Curry College Women's Basketball team picked up their first CCC win of the season on Tuesday, beating Wentworth by a final score of 56-40. The Colonels are now 6-11 on the season and 1-8 in CCC play, while the Leopards are now 3-11 and 0-9.

It was a dominating first quarter for the Colonels, as they raced out to an early lead by using a 16-1 run. They took an 18-5 lead into the second quarter, and never really looked back. The teams would play an even second quarter, and the Colonels took a 27-14 lead into the break. The Colonels would get up by as many as 21 points in the second half before finishing with a 56-40 win.

The Colonels had eight different scorers, led by Lauren Dunn's 19. The other double-digit scorer for Curry was Kylie McCarthy, who had 11. Dunn also led the team with five steals, while McCarthy led the team with four assists. On the boards it was Kasey Reeves who led the team with 10.

Up Next - The two teams will have a rematch at Curry on Thursday at 5:30pm.
