Women's Basketball Taken Down by Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Curry College women's basketball team suffered a 73-51 loss at the hands of Endicott College Thursday evening in a Commonwealth Coast Conference contest at MacDonald Gymnasium.

With the defeat, the Colonels fall to 4-7 overall and 0-4 in the CCC.

The teams battled back and forth in the opening quarter, which featured four ties and four lead changes. Twelve of Curry's 18 points came off the bench, with freshmen Samantha Conti (Woodbury, Conn.) and Lauren Morse (Holyoke, Mass.) each contributing six points. The Gulls held a narrow 21-18 advantage after one. 

Endicott controlled the play in the second quarter, outpacing Curry 19-10 to take a 40-28 lead into halftime. 

The Gulls went to the fourth with a 54-41 lead after outscoring Curry 14-11. The Colonels were paced by freshman Kasey Reeves (Millbury, Mass.) with four points in the frame.

All 12 of Curry's fourth quarter points came from the bench, as the Gulls closed out the 73-51 victory.

Morse was the lone Colonel to finish in double figures, dropping 12 points in the defeat. 

Next up for the Colonels, they will return home for a CCC contest against Western New England University on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff from the Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium is slated for 12 p.m.
