Women's Basketball Falls to Framingham

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 97-56 by Framingham State University Saturday afternoon in a non-conference women's basketball contest at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 4-5 while remaining 0-4 in conference play.

Curry opened up to a hot start with a 9-2 scoring run, giving the Colonels a seven-point advantage over the Rams. The run consisted of a successful three-point play by Kylie McCarthy (Beverly, Mass.), and layups by Olivia Gourdine (Barnstable, Mass.), Kasey Reeves (Millbury, Mass.), and Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.).

Dunn paced the Colonels with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Samantha Conti (Woodbury, Conn.) finished with 11 points off of three three-pointers. Reeves was another big contributor with nine points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Today's contest marks the end of play in 2023 for Curry College. The Colonels return to action on Saturday, January 2nd, hosting Suffolk University in a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup at 5:30 p.m.
