MILTON, Mass. - Curry College Women's Basketball defeated non-conference opponent Elms College in Katz Gymnasium Saturday afternoon by a final score of 59-43.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 4-1 overall this season.

The opening quarter in Katz Gymnasium saw a dominant Colonels side, outscoring the visiting Blazers 15-8. Curry's Kristyanna Remillard (Abington, Mass.) led the charge with eight points. 

In the second quarter, Elms College chipped away at Curry's lead, tallying eight points from just free throws. With 35 seconds remaining in the half, Elms' Rahmia Johnston knocked down a three to bring the score within four. Two successful free throws by freshman guard Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) sent the two sides into the half with Curry in front 25-19. 

The Colonels carried their momentum into the second half, taking off on a 12-3 scoring run midway through the quarter. Curry freshman forward Ellery Campbell (Rockland, Mass.) notched eight points in the third quarter on six successful free throws and a shot from the field to help the Colonels into the final quarter leading 49-28.

Curry freshman forward Nicole Moran (Framingham, Mass.) began scoring for the Colonels in the final period of play on a deep three-pointer, granting Curry a 52-30 lead. Curry senior forward Kathryn Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) marked five points through the remainder of regulation, sealing the victory on home court for the Colonels. The non-conference matchup at Katz Gymnasium concluded with a final score of 59-43.

Curry College was led by freshman forward Ellery Campbell (16 points, 7 rebounds), Kristyanna Remillard (10 points, 7 rebounds), and Kathryn Dunn (8 points, 4 assists, 8 rebounds).

The Colonels return to the court Tuesday (11/29) as they travel to face non-conference opponent Wheaton College at 7 PM.
