BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College Women's Basketball Team fell to conference opponent Wentworth Thursday evening by a final score of 70-62.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to 3-13 overall this season and 0-9 in the CCC. With the win, Wentworth improves to 3-12 on their season and 1-8 in the conference.

The night's contest proved to be evenly matched between the two conference opponents. The first quarter of play saw the hosts take just a two-point lead at the conclusion of the opening ten minutes. Freshman guard Emerson Cherry (Sturbridge, Mass.) came up big for the visiting Colonels, recording 6 of the 10 points for her side in the first quarter. Curry managed to take a four-point lead in the second quarter thanks to two three-pointers from junior guard Kaitlynn Smith (Hull, Mass.). The hosts tied the contest at 25 until a free throw from senior guard Lily Gray (Brooksville, Maine) gave Curry the one-point edge heading into the half.

Late in the third quarter of the contest, the Leopards found themselves with a comfortable 16-point lead. Wentworth's Gabby Amoddio and Maddy Foster combined for 16 points, leading the charge. The Colonels outscored the Leopards 25-21 in the final 10 minutes of the matchup but could not surge through the lead gained in the third quarter. Curry's Cherry and Smith combined for 17 in the final quarter, to no avail. The Colonels would fall to the Leopards by a final score of 70-62.

The Leopards were led by Gabbie Amoddio and Maddy Foster who both marked 15 points in the win. Amoddio tallied 11 rebounds while Foster saw 13.

The Colonels were led by Kaitlynn Smith who marked 22 points in the loss. Emerson Cherry recorded 16 points for Curry as Jamey Satterfield (Eddington, Maine) chalked 11 points on the road.
