Women's Basketball Stumped by Elms

CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Curry College women's basketball team was tripped up by Elms College by a final score of 60-52 on Tuesday evening in a non-conference tilt at Picknelly Arena.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 0-2 on the young season.

Curry led by seven points at 28-21 with under a minute to play in the opening half, but Elms outscored the Colonels 21-12 to take the lead and momentum in the contest and never looked back.

Three Colonels finished the evening in double figures, including a huge double-double from Kathryn Dunn (Hanson, Mass.). The junior finished with 11 points and 16 rebounds, while freshman Kylie McCarthy (Beverly, Mass.) notched 11 points and junior Kaitlynn Smith (Hull, Mass.) put up 10 points of her own.

Curry will return home on Friday to kick off the Curry College Tip-Off Tournament against Anna Maria College at 7 p.m. from Katz Gymnasium.
