Milton, MA - The Curry softball team swept their final home doubleheader of the season on Wednesday, defeating Mass Maritime in both games. The Colonels are now 17-21 on the season, while the Buccaneers are 11-15.

Game One

In a pitcher's duel, the Colonels came out on top in game one, with all of the game's runs scoring in the third. The Buccaneers struck first in the top half of the innings on a double to go up 1-0. But the Colonels responded immediately, first with a Natalia O'Kleasky RBI double. She then scored on a Jillian Rogers RBI single, putting the Colonels up 2-1. That was all they needed, as Rogers was her usual self in the circle, shutting Mass Maritime time.

Rogers pitched a complete game, allowing just six hits and two walks. She struck out 11 batters, the seventh time she has had double-digit strikeouts. O'Kleasky was the lone Curry player with multiple hits. Morgan Barmash walked in all three of her plate appearances for the Colonels.

Game Two

Game two was a completely different story to game one, as the Colonels grabbed a lead early, and never looked back. A Gracie Keyes RBI single in the first led things off. Renee Gonneville and Natalia O'Kleasky followed that up in the second with RBI hits of their own. Gonneville hit an RBI single, while O'Kleasky would double home two runs. Gonneville had another RBI single in the fourth, which was followed by two more runs scoring on a fielder's choice and then a walk with the bases loaded. The Colonels then walked things off due to the mercy rule in the fifth on a Morgan Barmash infield single, winning 8-0.

Curry had 12 hits, with Cailene Dupras and Renee Gonneville each accounting for three. Gracie Keyes also had multiple hits with two. Caitlyn Wood picked up the win, moving to 7-10 on the season in the circle. She pitched all five innings, allowing just two hits and a walk. She struck out two.

Up next - The Colonels will wrap up their season with a doubleheader at Gordon on Saturday, beginning at 12pm.
