Softball Overpowered By Roger Williams

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated in both games of a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader against Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon. The Colonels lost the first game 10-1 and the second 2-1.

With the losses, Curry falls to an overall record of 15-19 and a conference record of 2-10.

GAME ONE: RWU 10, Curry 1

The Colonels took advantage of defensive errors in the bottom of the fourth inning with Morgan Barmash (Woburn, Mass.) singling to center field and Natalia O'Kleasky (Coventry, R.I.) reaching on an error by the pitcher. On the ensuing at-bat, Madelyn White (Franklin, Mass.) hit a pop fly to center field that the fielder lost in the sun, landed for a single, and scored a run from second.

GAME TWO: RWU 2, Curry 1

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Mary Rodrigues (Milford, Conn.) knocked a single to left field, while Caitlyn Wood (Saugus, Mass.) reached first off an error by the pitcher. The pair advanced to second and third on a wild pitch, setting up Renee Gonneville (Saco, Maine) who hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score the only Curry run of the game.

Curry College returns to action on Sunday, April 28th, for a Senior Day doubleheader against Western New England beginning at 12 p.m.
