Rogers & McDermott Earn CCC All-Conference Honors

BIDDEFORD, Maine - A pair of Curry College softball student-athletes have been named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference's All-Conference teams, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Sophomore Jillian Rogers (East Freetown, Mass.) was named to the First Team All-Conference in the utility position, while junior Taylor McDermott (Durham, Conn.) was named to the Third Team at the third base position.

Rogers split time both in the circle and in the outfield for the Colonels. On the rubber, Rogers threw 96 innings for Curry, with a 3.65 earned run average and a record of 7-8. She ranked third in the conference with 114 strikeouts and tied for third with a pair of saves.

At the plate, Rogers ranked fourth in the CCC with a .420 batting average and .468 on-base percentage, with 25 runs batted in, 24 runs scored, 12 doubles, and three triples. She also stole three bases on the season.

McDermott ranked second on the Colonels with a .371 batting average, with five doubles and two triples. She ranked third on the Colonels with 19 runs batted in, with five doubles and two triples. In 126 plate appearances on the season, McDermott struck out only eight times.

The awards are the first All-Conference honors for both Rogers and McDermott.
