Game 1 - Western New England 9, Curry 1 (5 Innings)

Western New England held the Colonels to just three hits in game one to defeat the visitors in five innings.

Curry scored its only run in the top of the third inning when sophomore Natalia O'Kleasky (Coventry, R.I.) got caught in a rundown between second and third, allowing senior Emily Bussiere (Stow, Mass.) to sneak in from third and cutting the deficit to 2-1.

The score was still 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth when the Golden Bears scored seven to end the game in abbreviated fashion. A pair of three-run home runs did the majority of the damage in the frame.

Bussiere led Curry with a pair of hits, while also scoring Curry's only run in game one.

Game 2 - Western New England 10, Curry 3

The Golden Bear offense was again too much for Curry as the hosts closed out the sweep.

The Colonels got all of its scoring in the top of the sixth inning, scoring three times to cut Western New England's advantage to 7-3. O'Kleasky opened the scoring by coming home on an error, and freshman pinch runner Bella Newcomb (Plymouth, N.H.) scored moments later on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 7-2.

Sophomore Karlie Pontes (Dartmouth, Mass.) capped the rally with an RBI groundout, scoring classmate Jillian Rogers (East Freetown, Mass.) from third.

O'Kleasky had a stellar outing at the dish, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Rogers and Pontes recorded Curry's only other hits in the contest.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return home for a CCC doubleheader against Gordon College on Saturday. First pitch in game one is slated for 11 a.m.
