Cross Country Participates in Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. - The Curry College men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday afternoon in the Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

The three Colonel women finished within six seconds of each other, led by senior Tori Carleton (Whitman, Mass.) who earned sixth place in the 5k race with a time of 24:05.2. Sophomore Mackenzie Husson (Derry, N.H.), and junior Grayson Cheek (Wellesley, Mass.) were right behind her, finishing seventh and eighth respectively with times of 24:09.2 and 24:10.4.

On the men's side, sophomore Alex Nason (Easton, Mass.) paved the way, running a time of 32:12.1 to place 12th in the 8k race in which the Colonels placed third overall. His classmate Paul Alfonso (Northborough, Mass.) was close behind, earning 18th place with a time of 33:37.5. Alex Jodoin (Woburn, Mass.), Tyler Lovell (Norwood, Mass.), Kiwaane Gray (Dennis, Mass.), and Phil Shenkman (Simsbury, Conn.) rounded out the runners for Curry.

The Colonels will return to action on Saturday (9/30) to race in the Founding Tree Invitational hosted by Hampshire in Amherst, Mass.
