Men's Tennis Dropped by Suffolk

BELMONT, Mass. - The Curry College men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Suffolk University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Belmont Hill School.

With the defeat, Curry moves to 0-4 overall on the season and 0-7 in the CCC.

Suffolk won all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead early. The closest match came at first doubles, where Nick Bell (Haverhill, Mass.) and Leevi Selänne (Coto de Caza, Calif.) fell by a score of 8-3.

In singles play, Curry won at the third and fourth positions, but it was not enough to overcome the early advantage. Senior Grant Palmer (Charlotte, N.C.) won 6-3, 6-3 at three and sophomore Jonny Kopack (Ramsey, N.J.) claimed a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 victory at four.

Next up for the Colonels, they will close out their season on Tuesday, hosting Endicott College at 3:30 p.m.
