Men's Tennis Blanked by Salve Regina

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Salve Regina University Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 0-3 overall on the season and 0-6 in the CCC.

The Seahawks opened the day by winning all three doubles match to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The closest match came at first doubles, where the Curry tandem of Nick Bell (Haverhill, Mass.) and Roland Polasek (Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic) fell by a score of 8-4.

Salve closed out the victory with a sweep in singles play. Bell forced a tiebreaker at the first singles position, but fell by a final of 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.

Next up for the Colonels, they will host Salem State for a non-conference contest at Scott Courts on Friday. First serves are slated for 3 p.m.
