Men's Tennis Drops CCC Opener

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Suffolk University in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener on Saturday morning at the Trent J. Scott Tennis Courts.

With the defeat, Curry drops to 0-6 overall on the season and opens its CCC campaign at 0-1.

Suffolk won all three doubles matches to open the day, but the Colonels kept all three matches tight. The Rams won 8-4, 8-5, and 8-6 and first, second, and third doubles respectively.

Curry took a pair of singles matches to avoid the sweep, picking up victories at the one and six positions. Senior captain Lorenzo Russo (Lynnfield, Mass.) won at first singles, while junior Grant Palmer (Charlotte, N.C.) won at sixth singles, each by identical 6-0, 6-1 scores. Suffolk won in positions two through five to secure the victory.

Curry will be back in action on Tuesday to continue conference play on the road at Western New England. First serves are scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
