Men's Soccer Concludes Regular Season With Victory Over Wentworth

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College ended regular season play with a convincing 4-1 victory over Wentworth Tuesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, Curry concludes the regular season with an overall record of 8-6-3 while going 3-3-2 in conference play.

Junior Lucas Drons (Bellingham, Mass.) scored twice to open up the game, first in the 20th minute of play off a pass from Senior JD Santiago (La Plata, Md.) and again just 10 minutes later. His second goal marked nine on the season. He was unassisted on the play.

Dron's contribution didn't stop at scoring goals as he set up Senior Adam Pforr (Weymouth, Mass.), who finished the play to score his sixth goal of the season and put the Colonels on top 3-0.

Curry's fourth and final goal arrived just three minutes later when Giovanni Martins (Brockton, Mass.) passed a short ball from the corner to Santiago, whose shot on net snuck by the goalkeeper for his third score of the season.

Brendan Cunningham (Middletown, N.Y.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, finishing with four saves in the win.

Curry College will compete in the first round of the CCC tournament on the road on Saturday.
