Men’s Soccer Holds On to Defeat Lesley

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Lesley University 2-1 Monday afternoon in non-conference men's collegiate soccer action at Walter M. Katz Field.

Senior midfielder Conor McCann (Hanover, Mass.) scored the first goal of his collegiate career to put Curry on top 1-0 in the 32nd minute of play. McCann found the back of the net after receiving a pass into the box from his classmate JD Santiago (La Plata, Md.).

Junior forward Lucas Drons (Bellingham, Mass.) extended the Colonel lead in the 54th minute of play, scoring his third goal of the season off a pass from sophomore midfielder Chris Kourtelidis (Ashland, Mass.) to put Curry on top 2-0.

Freshman Nathaniel Sama (Tiverton, R.I.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making three saves while picking up his first collegiate win.

Curry won the offensive battle, taking 13 total shots compared to 11 for the Lynx. The Colonels also finished with three shots on goal and took a total of two corner kicks.

Curry College (4-1-3, 0-0-2 CCC) returns to action on Wednesday (9/27) with a non-conference road matchup against Worcester State beginning at 7 p.m.
